The Journey is the first painting of a new series by Gail Allen about a couple's journey through life together. Once again, these pieces incorporate my own symbolic language. Symbolic elements tend to repeat in my work, as they are an integral part of my creation process. They directly relate to aspects of my own life, ideals and observations. Here the couple is starting out together in a void of the unknown while navigating a bit of choppy waters, but always with an eye to lighter, fertile days ahead, given time.
