Gail Allen is a trained, multitalented mid-career symbolic, representational, fine artist who lives and works in New Hampshire, USA. She has won many awards in juried exhibitions.

Statement

As a lifelong gardener and outdoor enthusiast, she believe our connection to nature is fundamental to our health, wellbeing and our understanding of who we are. Her representational paintings and drawings reflect upon to our current societal relationship to the environment we live in. They are often large and meant to encompass the viewer, taking them on a journey which brings them up close and personal with nature's elements, ultimately, illuminating the interaction of reality and perception, at a given moment in time.
Her current, newest series of surrealistic figural paintings is based upon her life experiences, using her personal symbolism, as it interpreted from many diverse cultures. These often also incorporate natural elements, with a tendency towards psychological evaluation of a moment in time. 

Biography

The painter Gail Allen is a mid career artist who lives and works in NewHampshire, USA. She was born and raised in a small town in western Massachusetts. She attended Paier College of Art trained as an illustrator and painter. Subsequently, she moved to the Boston, Massachusetts area and began an early career as a graphic designer, all the while painting and honing her fine art and figurative studies and skills. Quitting graphic design while raising a family of three creative young men, she returned to working full time as a fine art painter. Her works have been in juried shows throughout New England, as well as in many online domestic and international exhibits.
