Darkness Descending is a painting that came about when I was sitting by our pond drawing. As I was sitting still, a shadow of darkness came over me. A large hawk swooped down to grab one of our koi fish that were near the top of the pond. In most cases, it seems to be the large heron that I see visiting regularly, so this was a new site. My artwork always seems to alchemical of sorts. Little did I know it but darkness was descending upon me. I fell ill shortly afterward. But the illness was a blessing in disguise. So darkness descending isnt always a bad thing, in this case it was a new beginning! .
